Blue hydrangeas are a crystalline coloring fertilizer for hydrangeas. The fertilizer has a coloring effect in relation to a specific species – garden hydrangea. Only in this species of hydrangea in a variety that has a tendency to discolor, we can change the color. However, not all hydrangeas will turn blue. Only pink hydrangeas are colored blue. Red hydrangeas turn purple. White hydrangea, on the other hand, will never change color. The fertilizer can also be successfully used to fertilize other species of hydrangeas and flowering acidophilic plants. Crystalline fertilizers are intervention fertilizers – they immediately replenish nutrient deficiencies thanks to minerals that are available to plants in easily digestible forms.

The blue color of the hydrangea is mainly influenced by the reaction of the substrate. The lower the pH of the substrate, the bluer the flowers become. This is due to aluminum (Al) ions that are released from the substrate in an acidic environment. Blue hydrangeas fertilizer additionally replenishes aluminum deficiencies. The high content of potassium with the addition of aluminum affects the intense color of flowers and makes it easier for plants to synthesize the dye that gives the hydrangea flowers a blue color. Phosphorus, when we want to change the color of hydrangeas, is a superfluous element, because with a large amount of it in the soil, aluminum is transformed into forms that are not available for hydrangeas. Therefore, fertilizer blue hydrangeas were deprived of this element, which has a positive effect on discoloration. Several shades of flowers on one shrub mean that the substrate within the shrub has slightly different acidity.

Application method
Use from March to mid-September, soil every 2 weeks. Dissolve the fertilizer in water, allocating 1 teaspoon of fertilizer to 2 liters of water (5 g of fertilizer to 2 liters of water). The fertilizer poured into the water must be mixed thoroughly. Water the plants around with the obtained solution, to the required substrate moisture. Plants should be watered after the substrate, avoiding contact with leaves and flowers. The recommended doses should not be exceeded, because the fertilizer is highly condensed.
