Description
ROCKET, Diplotaxis tenuifolia
Annual plant, height 30-60 cm. The edible part is a rosette of pinnate leaves that are eaten raw or cooked. They contain a lot of potassium, vitamin C, mineral salts, organic acids and essential oils. Sow the seeds every 2-3 weeks from the beginning of spring to the second half of September to a depth of 1-1.5 cm in rows every 15-25 cm. In case of too dense emergence, the plants should be discontinued. The leaves are harvested 4-6 weeks after sowing and they are harvested until they begin to produce inflorescence shoots. The rocket requires a soil that is rich in nutrients and retains moisture, and requires a sunny or slightly shaded position.
