SWEET MARJORAM, Origanum majorana
Annual plant 25-30 cm high. The dried leaves are used for seasoning soups, minced meats, poultry, fish, and in butcheries to make some cold cuts. Extract used in pharmacy for the production of marjoram ointment to treat runny nose. It is grown from seedlings and sowing directly into the ground. Sunrise takes place at 20-25 ° C within 7-14 days. In March, seedlings are sown in boxes or on pallets under covers. Plant in the middle of May into the ground, 2-3 pieces each, spaced 25×20 cm. Sowing directly into the ground in mid-April in rows every 25-30 cm. The herb is harvested twice in June – July and early autumn. It works on fertile, humus soils, sufficiently moist in the second year after manure.
